"Tiara is in need of some serious customer service training. State Farm didn’t end up being a good choice for me because underwriting required a contractor’s signature to get a big discount for a home policy. This was something I couldn’t obtain. She was the one who worked with me initially on getting a quote, and said she would be in charge in obtaining signatures for me by calling the company who sold me my home. However, she never followed up with me, and it was only until I got the documents in the mail that it was determined she couldn’t get in contact with the company for the signature and I was not able to get the discount. She never bothered to follow up with me to tell me she couldn’t get in contact with them. So my quote went from around $1800, to $3700. When I called after getting the documents in the mail showing it was $3700, she basically said “oh yeah I couldn’t get in contact with them, and without those signatures we can’t get you the discount” how she thought it was okay not to notify me of that, is terrible customer service. I later informed her I was going to go with Allstate, and she recommended that I do not cancel with Statefarm, until Allstates underwriting confirms my actual quote, so that I don’t lose my quote with Statefarm. Understandable, and I agreed. However, I did bring up a concern to her. I asked when would they send the bill to my mortgage company (because I wanted to avoid my mortgage company paying Statefarm and having to later get a refund from them to later deposit it back into the escrow account, if I was going to truly cancel). This was explained to her. She assured me Statefarm would not send the bill until the policy actually becomes into effect (which was Sept 19). I ended up notifying Tiara about canceling with State Farm yesterday. Well today I get a letter in the mail from my mortgage company saying they received a letter from Statefarm advising they would be my new insurance provider. So I called Statefarm trying to confirm did they actually send a bill. Turns out they did. At no point, was Tiara trying to take accountability for the miscommunication, (that they wouldn’t send a bill until after Sept 19) she blames underwriting for sending the bill, that she was told something different by underwriting, and wasn’t sure why they sent out the bill. She was giving lame excuses, and all she needed to do was take accountability and apologize instead of trying to be defensive. But now I’m thinking she never actually knew when the bill would be sent and just made it all up since looking back she never even bothered to followed up with her client to advise her she wasn’t going to be able to get a $1900 DISCOUNT!!! My experience with the office itself was decent, but Tiara needs some additional customer service training."
